Playdate

Remember when you used to call up your friend and ask, "Wanna have a playdate?" This club is that- for your Adult Self. Playdate is a guided experience that blends playful games, improvisation, creativity, movement, guided meditation, and meaningful reflection into one unforgettable evening. Every activity is thoughtfully guided, so there's nothing to prepare or plan, and there’s no pressure to perform. You simply show up, let go of the day, and allow yourself to play. Research in neuroscience and psychology has shown that play does far more than make us laugh. It helps quiet stress, boosts creativity, strengthens social connection, improves cognitive flexibility, and helps us learn and adapt more easily. In other words, play is serious business! During playdate, you’ll get to remember what it feels like to be fully present, to laugh without overthinking, and to try something new without worrying about getting it right. It’s a space to meet new people without the awkwardness of forced small talk and to leave feeling lighter, more energized, and more authentically connected to yourself and the people around you. No acting experience, artistic talent, or "fun" personality required. Just bring yourself! Let’s have a Playdate! Tickets are $15

Tech Lancaster

Tech Lancaster is a social meetup of people who are interested in technology and want to learn more about it. The group is open to everyone regardless of experience or background. All events are free! Our namesake meetup, "Tech Lancaster Meetup," typically has two presentations surrounded by social time. Generally, these presentations contain topics that are designed to provide a 30,000-foot view of a technology, with maybe a dip or two into some actual code. If you're interested in a purely social meetup without presentations or structure, check out Pub Standards and Open Coffee Club. These are designed to be low-pressure meetups that you can pop in or out of and meet other members of the community.

Book Clubs

Image alt text

Sci Fi Book Club

Join us each month, 4 to 6PM on the third Sunday, for a science fiction book club that explores big ideas. Ray Bradbury called science fiction "the literature of ideas" and "the art of the possible," a history of ideas about how science and technology shape our future. But science fiction is also a literature of culture and critique, a genre with its own distinctive literary style and structure that sparks genuine conversation and opens up new ways of seeing the world. We plan to read classic and contemporary science fiction, and we will talk about what these stories reveal about science, society, art, and what it means to be human.
