Soporus is the musical duo of Matthew Stone and William Stichter, childhood friends who have played in bands together for over 30 years. Formed in 2003 to explore their shared interest in ambient music and honed after-hours while playing together in instrumental rock group Saxon Shore, Soporus combines shifting drone with shimmering glacial melody that builds into dense layers of enveloping sound. Stone and Stichter craft songs primarily on guitar and bass, using careful techniques that often obscure their origins, and add accents of keyboard, electronics, and field recordings.
Tyler Pursel is a Philadelphia-based experimental musician, abstract artist, and creative consultant whose work explores the intersection of sound, texture, and emotion. His solo work as well as duo-project Earthroom seamlessly integrate varying forms of synthesis, generative processes, and unconventional structures to craft immersive auditory and visual experiences.
Tom Gluibizzi has had an incredible output throughout his life in music. It began with Psychic Ills (check 'Dins' and 'Early Violence') before he moved on to explore the mutant disco of Hidden Fees and bedroom ambient of Broken Head. His first solo cassette, Falzarego Pass, is out now on Cimiotti Recordings. It sounds like a New Age Crazy Horse, or JJ Cale's version of a Kitaro record.
