From messy relationships to moral dilemmas to strange, unforgettable characters and settings, our lineup is built to spark conversation. Expect dynamic facilitators, thoughtful prompts, a welcome space to share silly and serious takes, and creative extras like book-inspired playlists and themed refreshments. Meet Your Bookclub Hosts

JJ Sheffer is executive director of enroot, running arts and humanities programs in York and Lancaster that create welcoming, safe spaces and utilize storytelling as a vehicle to help participants connect with others in their community. She has read nearly 300 books since the start of 2022, primarily memoirs and fiction titles that help her better understand lived experiences that are different from her own.

Jennell McHugh is the author of ALIVE IN ‘95 and facilitator of events/workshops for readers, writers, and other uplifting gormandizers. A trained sociologist obsessed with context and how it shapes the stories we tell, she loves reading multiple perspectives, colloquial dialogue, and literature that unapologetically bends class/culture.
