Artist Bios
Dirk Quinn
Dirk Quinn is the guitarist for the jazz/funk band that coincidentally bears his name. Based out of Philadelphia, the group travels extensively throughout the US and Canada. Utilizing over a decade of steady performing, they've developed a unique and sincere style - one that appeals to a wide variety of music listeners with fans ranging from the beard stroking jazz aficionados to the jam band hippies.
The band’s infectious energy and musical interplay routinely attract listeners that are admittedly more accustomed to lyric-based music. With great melodic sensibilities, rhythmic experimentation and an accessible modern edge, the Dirk Quinn Band is jazz/funk improvisation at its most engaging!
Benjamin Vo Blues Band
Based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Benjamin Vo preaches the blues fearlessly with devotion and no apologies. His singing and playing bares his soul while his songwriting is honest, dark, and vulnerable. Both the purist and the radical - Benjamin leads his band thru soulful and organic blues and intense jams that pierce the heart. The recent release of his third album, Poor Sam, evokes the lyrical poetic playing of Peter Green, the candid sincerity of Otis Spann, and the adventurous spirit of Lonnie Johnson.
“…intense yet tasteful playing, heartfelt singing with attractive vibrato and warm vocal tone, and a directness to the songs.” – Bruce Iglauer (Alligator Records)
“…Call this music what you will. I call it a thing of musical beauty!” – Greg Szalony (Blues Blast Magazine)
“…Upon playing the first track on the album, I had an immediate “Wow” reaction. “Rain On My Window” is certainly up there as one of my best albums for 2018.” – Adrian Blacklee (Blues Matters! Magazine) “
“The Benjamin Vo Blues Band took fans to church in the best way possible on Sunday afternoon. Their show at Tellus 360 brought unreal performances from each member. Vo’s intense blues-rock playing just dares you to look away – taking you on a crazy ride, as you wonder what’s next.” – Carrie Winchel (Rock Documented)
