Kids Art Club: Exploring Abstract Art through Stencil
When: Tuesday, November 25th, 10:00am -10:45am
Where: West Art, City Hall
Class Description: Children will begin to learn about the abstract art movement by observing and interacting with the work of artist and mystic Hilma AF Klint. Kids and their caregivers will practice creating organic and geometric shapes using stencils, stamps, tape, and cut outs to create repetitive images. They will use their fine motor skills to trace, draw, cut, glue, and layer to create their own abstract creations! Caregivers are encouraged to work alongside their child to participate in the art making process.
Cost: $15 per family due at the beginning of class (cash, check, or venmo)
What to Expect:
Hand on art exploration with your child
Introduction to creative thinking and process-oriented art making for toddlers
Sensory-rich, creative play (non-toxic and washable materials provided, things can get messy, so dress accordingly)
Adaptive accommodations available
What to Bring:
Clothes that can get messy (we’ll provide protection too)
Curiosity and a willingness to think outside the box!
